"I’m not normally the type to write reviews like this, but I am so frustrated. My debit card expired back in June causing my auto pay with Michael’s firm to discontinue. I got an email about this, but I rarely check my emails. Up until just a few days ago, I failed to realize this. The only reason I realized this was because I got into a fender bender on Friday, so I called Michael’s office and spoke with him. He made no mention of my late payments or that my policy was going to be canceled in a day if I didn't pay. Once I realized that it wasn’t going through, which was two days, I called Michael’s office and I spoke with his lovely answering service who would’ve liked to help me out, but I was a day late on the reinstatement date. The lovely lady I spoke with told me to call on Monday, which I did. I left a message for Michael around 12pm. I figured he was out to lunch, but he never got back to me. Even today, 24 hours later, not one call back. I would be fine with him kindly letting me know that he would not like to reinstate with me, that would’ve been fine. But the lack of communication on his end is in my opinion super unprofessional and rude considering it was an honest mistake. I don’t suggest you get insurance through this guy."

"I had state farm for 20 years, my debit card expired state farm canceled all my insurance and reported me to the PENNDOT now I pay 114$ more a month for insurance. They treated me like I had 400 DUI's trying to get insured for the first time. On top of all of this I now have to fill forms out to the state or else I will be fined and loose my registration. State farm puts on a fake face like they are personable because they have local agents, guess what the local agents never answer their phone and don't do anything to help you. Do yourself a favor and don't choose state farm."

"I have found Michael Dear to be a professional, seasoned insurance broker. He had my back as we pressed through some frustrating administrative issues with State Farm. I can count on Michael to answer every phone call and every insurance question expeditiously. Excellent communicator!"

"Hard to get a hold of, raised rates for no apparent reason. Switched to another company and saved over $500 a year over the new rate while adding a second car."

"Mike has been my agent since I was a senior in high school and I purchased my first Term-Life policy. I am truly happy with the great customer service that I have received from Mike and Aaron Dear. If I call for a quote or have a question concerning insurance, I trust that either Mike or Aaron will be able clarify any insurance terms, policies, or other questions that I may have in a timely matter. I just opened my own business recently, and although Mike was not able to offer me a Business Owner Policy, he still took the time to review and explain what type of coverage should be included in the policy and what range the policy should cost. I would highly recommend Michael Dear State Farm Insurance to anyone who is looking for an honest, and dependable insurance agent."
